April Meeting success

The latest meeting of the South West Governance Network took place on Thursday 19th April 2012. The meeting was very well attended, with a number of new faces. Thanks to everyone for coming along.

The theme for the meeting was “IT and Governance”, with a focus on the range of systems that are currently available to host Board papers online. Representatives of Somer and Raglan both gave an update on their experiences to date.

There was also an official launch for this website, which has been well received.

As usual, time was set aside to discuss a range of other topical issues, including a presentation from Jenny allen from the National Housing Federation.

Details of papers have been posted in the Minutes and Papers section of this site.

There is now a gap in the meeting calendar due to the national NHF Company Secretaries Conference which will be taking place on 26th June 2012. The next SW Governance Network meeting will therefore be taking place on 11th October 2012. Further details of the venue and joining instructions will be made available closer to the date.

Finally, a big thank you to Somer for hosting this meeting.

Welcome to the South West Governance Network webpage

Welcome to the newly launched South West Governance Network webpage.

This site has been developed to help support the officers that are involved in organising and attending network meetings. It will be filled with useful information that has specific relevance to governance officers involved with working in the social housing sector in the South West of England.

The site is likely to develop over time and we would welcome your feedback on useful content. It will contain details of meeting dates, useful materials, and provide a location for regional based discussions.

This site is not intended to duplicate any of the work fulfilled by the national Housing Associations’ Company Secretaries Forum. A link to the national site is located in the Links section of this site.
